Chiritotechin Notes
Jan. 21st, 2008 04:04 pmPicking up in the middle, but the basic story is that of Kiyomi (aka Wakasa, her stage name) who is learning Rakugo.
Today's show focused on Kiyomi and Soso (her husband) trying to help get her parents back together.
Two very cute scenes, I thought. The first was a simple one, with Mom alone in the fish store where she is working, looking at the phone, starting towards it, then turning away. And then going over and picking it up, reaching out to dial it, and . . . Kiyomi comes in and Mom hangs the phone up and moves away from it. All silent, but well-done acting made me feel sympathy for that desire to call, but I can't because . . .
Second was the hook for tomorrow. First Soso has the idea of doing a Rakugo show here in the home town, explaining that having the parents meet at a Rakugo show may help them relax with each other, and that Rakugo is a good way to explain important things. Kiyomi agrees, but then ponders - she and Soso share a love of Rakugo, but what do her mother and father share?
