Golden Week Diversion... makankosappo?

Here in Japan, there is a set of holidays clustered around this week. I.e., April 29 is a holiday, followed by holidays on May 3, 4, 5, and 6. Some years, this results in most of a week being holidays. This year they have largely hit on the weekend, but quite a few people have taken 3 days vacation to turn this week into a long spring break.

Anyway, our TV shows are happily chasing various odds and ends. One of the odder ones for me was something called makankosappo. Apparently this came from one of the anime, and largely consists of people taking photographs apparently showing one person "exploding" people using a mystical ray or some such wonder. Take one person in the middle who poses striking the ground or making a mystical push with their hands, and a set of other people who jump and pose on the count of three, along with someone who has a camera to catch them midair -- the result is a picture seemingly showing the person in the middle using their magical powers to shove everyone else into the air.

A fair number of young people indicated that one of the things they plan to do during this Golden week is make these kinds of pictures. And it turns out that Wikipedia even has an article about it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makankosappo
