Saturday was a treat!

Just to round out the week with the rakugo show . . . Today was a hospital scene, with Kiyomi doing a bit of improv rakugo based on her uncle's antics, PLUS a final lesson for the students in the practice room at home, with the teacher doing the Sites of Hell.
Saturday focused on two scenes. First was a hospital scene, with Kiyomi's family. This started with the family bickering, the teacher telling Kiyomi that she is surrounded by rakugo, and finished with her improvising a story based on her family right there. Teacher tells her "That's your sosaku rakugo" and pats her head. (This was reminiscent of the earlier scene where they all clustered around the grandfather in a hospital and listened to a rakugo tape - and at least once, they showed a bit of that scene).
Second, though, the teacher asked to go home - and did Jigoku Bakkai as a final session with his students. And the neighbors, the bar tender and his wife, the barber, the shrine store woman, and Kiyomi's mother, all collected in the garden and listened. One of the amazing bits to me was at least a full minute of shots of the faces of the five students, in silence, waiting for him. In a 15 minute episode, that's a huge chunk of time for a "non-action" bit.
Finish up with flash highlights from upcoming episodes, all teasing at what will happen next.
Very cool. And now I wanta know what's going to happen next:-)
