I really think I should do something with this image.

The news had a short piece showing a young man making a pitch for what I think was manga and associated toys. At least, he had a stack of papers with cartoon style drawings. Apparently the central characters were fuzzy trucks -- trucks with tank-style tracks, but with long fur? Along with these, of course, he had some samples of the trucks. Probably hand-sewn, stuffed soft trucks with longish fur. Aimed at fairly young children, I think.

So in the video shown on the tv, we have the young man. Little bit of a beard, scraggly hair, casual clothing. From appearance alone, a type-cast artist, perhaps a beat musician or hippy. He is seated at a low coffee table, common to Japanese offices, with the businessman around the corner of the table. The sample cartoon sheets and toys are on the coffee table.

Now, the businessman. Dark suit, white shirt, tie. A type-cast accountant, drone in the innards of The Company, no humor on his face. Shaved, hair neat.

First we see him flip through the cartoons, discussing them. Then comes the part that sticks in my mind.

He picks up the furry truck, and squeezes it with his thumbs. He palpitates it, rolling it between his palms, then strokes the fur. He asks the young man some question, but continues to massage the furry truck, peering at it.

Somehow, his intense scrutiny of the furry truck caught my funnybone. I'm not sure why, but the image of the dark-suited business man carefully examining a furry truck just makes me laugh.

Maybe it is just wondering if he will dare to smile at them?
