Notes from a weekend Santa
Dec. 22nd, 2007 03:31 pmWell, that was fun. Two weeks ago I was Santa Claus for the kindergarten class, and today I got to be Santa Claus for the elementary school kids. They all had questions for Santa Claus. Some I remember include:
1. Why do you wear a belt? (a little one asked this so quietly that we had to have her repeat the question - and then I had to think of an answer!)
I suggested that if I took it off, I would be soooo fat. (that got a giggle)
2. Why do you wear black rubber boots?
There is a lot of snow at the North pole! I have to wear boots.
3. How did you become Santa Claus?
Ah. Well, long ago when I was very small, about as old as you are, there weren't any presents for kids. And we were all very sad!
So I decided that when I grew up, I would give all the kids presents - and that's how I became Santa Claus!
You do like presents, right? (That got agreement!)
Fun, anyway. And the kids certainly seem to enjoy having Santa visit.
