Nutcracker for a crow?
Jul. 26th, 2014 11:00 pmInteresting. They had a video of a crow who has developed an interesting approach to the problem of getting his walnuts open. Apparently he flies them to a local intersection, where he lands on a convenient cable overhead. He drops the walnuts into the road. Then he waits, as cars run over them, cracking them nicely. But it is a busy intersection so he waits a little more.
When the light turns red, the cars stop, and he flies down and scoops up his walnut meats. Then he flies off.
I couldn't tell from the video whether he says "Thank you" as he flies away from where the drivers have helped him crack his nuts, but it suspect he may.
One smart bird.
