Catching up on old Star Trek - Catspaw
Nov. 10th, 2007 10:37 pmjust some odd notes from watching this today. This is the one where Intergalactic critters grab Kirk and others, holding them in a dungeon? Sulu, McCoy, and even Scotty get to shove the Captain around (although they do get knocked out towards the end). Anyway, we have Korob and Sylvia pressing the Captain to go along. And Kirk tries intergalactic seduction to get Sylvia. She offers to change her shape or form as a sort of temptation. Then she gets hurt and angry, saying, "you hold me in your arms, but there is no fire in your mind. You are using me!"
Let's see. Spock urges Kirk to climb with the line, "A bit more alacrity, Captain" which I found amusingly pedantic.
The ending was kind of quixotic, too. With McCoy saying, "it was all just an illusion" and Kirk responding, "it was no illusion. Jackson is dead." As the little critters smoked away.
