A Few Memories
Aug. 21st, 2006 09:25 pmLet's see. We ended up making our airplane connections at LAX on August 13, not long after the terror arrests in England on August 10. Some odd bits and pieces.
First, of course, everyone was getting to the airports well in advance. So of course, things seemed to run very smoothly.
Second, one lady behind us observed that her bag goes through the security check regularly, so why were they running it through another time. The security guy just went ahead, got a second opinion, then had her open the bag. And then they took her compact away, saying that they were going to check it. They ignored all her comments about being a regular.
We did see one lady carrying a clear plastic bag with her wallet and other travel documents in it. I assume she had listened to the news about the steps taken for Heathrow and other English flights, and for some reason thought they applied everywhere. So she was ready.
That's what I can think of now.
