I'm missing something here . . .
Aug. 27th, 2007 12:52 pmMy new cell phone is a miracle of tiny, but it is basically just a block of smooth metal, and I've been fretting about it slipping. So last week I suggested we look for a wrist strap.
Bumbling around through the stores, we found - the nightmare before christmas, lilo and stitch, Micky Mouse - and my wife announced, "No, too childish."
We walked by a store and she said, "Oh, I'll bet they have straps." So we went in and they had a whole section full of feathers, manga themes, furry blobs, and so forth. When she said, "Oh, these are so childish," I pointed out that we were in a children's store, so that wasn't exactly a surprise.
The electronics store had LifeGuard straps and other boring black or brown - but those were rather pricey, and not right either.
Then we are wandering around yesterday, and she says, "This one! This is just perfect for you."
At that point, I simply sighed and agreed. Paid for it. Put it on my phone. Checked with her that this was really the one she wanted me to use daily? Yep. And I have been wondering ever since.
Why does a miniature Winnie the Pooh bear get past the "too childish" filter?
In fact, why did it get picked up and enthusiasticly endorsed as a good strap for me?
It is rather bold draped out of my shirt pocket.
Oh, well, at least I got a strap.
