Feb. 26th, 2007 09:55 amI dearly love trackballs. I have two logitech ones, one for home and one for the office. When I travel, I carry one, but it is awkward -- they are big. So since everyone else has tiny minimice for their laptops, I've been looking for a more portable trackball. Mostly, I haven't been finding any.
However, on my recent trip to Los Angeles, I found a Fellowes trackball. Tiny thing with a slightly different arrangement for mouse clicking -- there is a trigger in the middle. They suggest using your first finger, but I find it more natural to use my middle finger. It can also be used lefthanded. Seems to do the job nicely, is small enough to pack easily, and while the trigger pull is somewhat stiff, the action is actually surprisingly natural. Move the cursor using the trackball with your thumb, and shoot.
If you are looking for a portable trackball, try the Fellowes one. Recommended.
